We have an enemy, out to thwart God’s work in our life and the advance of God’s kingdom in our world. He tempts us constantly to do things contrary to God’s will. We get stuck, don’t move forward, experience all the life that God has for us. The power to overcome temptation comes from the Spirit. The path to overcome temptation is resisting it while relying on the truth of God.
